End of December! Modern Headlines from the Month Served with a Classic Hollywood Twist

Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say, may your days be merry and bright!

We have had way too much fun this month. Well, my idea of fun anyway. For example, I think we must have seen at least two live-theatre adaptation of A Christmas Carol. I absolutely adored Irving Berlin's White Christmas stage production in Long Beach. I am going to blaspheme and say I was almost more entertained by the stage play than by the film! I know. I know.

December is a month of endings and beginnings -- we are looking at the past year, the dreams that came true and the ones that didn't, and we are hoping and planning for even better things next year. But today, I hope you will find peace and calm in the beautiful moments with the ones you love.

I hope this day finds you steeped in beauty, joy, and plenty!

In the meantime, enjoy the stories that inspired me this month, including a little bit of ...

Audrey Hepburn Eyebrows, and lawsuits over marilyn monroe themed cakes

First of all, I would be remiss to express my sadness at the passing of cinema great, Kirk Douglas. RIP, Spartacus!

I am fascinated by the obsession with Meghan Markle. But even more fascinated by the obsession with her eyebrows. Here's the story on her Audrey inspired makeover.

I get excited about restoration projects, like this one of Hollywood’s Earl Carroll Theatre.

I don't know if this really happened, but if it is this is hilarious. True, the cake doesn't look like Marilyn Monroe, but it is kinda funny.

So there's a new trend in the anti-aging movement. This time it is a gin. I'm not kidding. "Anti-aGin" claims to distill its spirits using collagen. Well. Why not, I guess?

In other news...

Is anyone else kinda obsessed with that commercial for State Farm where the cute little couple are remodeling their home? The singer croons "I love you, a bushel and a peck, and bushel and a peck but you make my heart a wreck!" That singer is none other than one of my favorites, Doris Day. :)

...and a few things you may have missed from She Wore Stars!

Doing a lot of entertaining this holiday season? Don't forget to sign up for The Cocktail Adventure! You will be able to whip up a cocktail or two at home without embarrassing yourself. It's fun. Maybe a little too fun.
